Tickets are currently released up to two weeks ahead, and popular times can sell out.<\/span><\/p><hr \/><h6>\u00a0<\/h6><h6><b>HARAJUKU &amp; OMOTESANDO<\/b><\/h6><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harajuku and Omotesando work perfectly together because you can explore both on foot.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start around <\/span><b>Meiji Shrine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of the most peaceful places in central Tokyo, then walk toward Harajuku.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Takeshita Street is the famous part, filled with colorful shops, sweets and crowds, but don&#8217;t make it your only impression of the neighborhood.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walk through <\/span><b>Cat Street<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> toward Omotesando for vintage stores, fashion boutiques, caf\u00e9s and a completely different atmosphere.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Omotesando itself feels considerably more polished, with luxury stores and striking architecture.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is also one of the easiest areas to combine with Shibuya in the same day.<\/span><\/p><hr \/><h6>\u00a0<\/h6><h6><b>SHINJUKU<\/b><\/h6><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shinjuku is one of the best neighborhoods to experience later in the day.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The western side is dominated by skyscrapers and office buildings, while the eastern side becomes much more energetic after dark.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walk through Kabukicho, explore the small streets around the station and visit <\/span><b>Omoide Yokocho<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a tiny collection of restaurants and yakitori counters close to Shinjuku Station. Tokyo&#8217;s official tourism guide describes it as a narrow alley filled with grilled chicken stalls, many seating only a handful of customers.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a completely free skyline view, go to the <\/span><b>Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Its observation deck sits 202 meters above the city and admission is free. On clear days, Mount Fuji may even be visible.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would save Shinjuku for the afternoon and evening rather than visiting early in the morning.<\/span><\/p><hr \/><h6>\u00a0<\/h6><h6><b>ASAKUSA<\/b><\/h6><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to see a more traditional side of Tokyo, spend a few hours in Asakusa.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main attraction is <\/span><b>Sensoji Temple<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, approached through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate and Nakamise shopping street.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nakamise is touristy, but it is still fun for traditional snacks and small souvenirs.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Asakusa, you can also walk along the Sumida River or continue toward Tokyo Skytree.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another interesting stop nearby is <\/span><b>Kappabashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Tokyo&#8217;s kitchenware district.
